Metaphysical Misty

As if all that wasn't enough … after I moved into my parents house, I injured my back and walking or standing for very long became excruciating.

Over the next year I gained a lot of weight because of non-activity. I watched as my life continued to crumble around me. I slipped deeper and deeper into depression. My friends came around and tried to pull me out of my slump. I knew what they were doing and I loved them for it, but looking back, I don't think I wanted to be helped. Eventually their visits lessened and I was left on my own … just how I wanted to be.

Of course I wasn't truly alone. I still had my children to raise and I tried to put on a happy face for them, but I'm sure they saw right through it.

I can't tell you how long I stayed in that phase of my life before I finally decided that it was time to pick myself up and live again. I know it was far too long! I found that it was an uphill battle and often I would take one step forward and two steps back. Sometimes I would give up completely for a while. Each effort I made, helped me to learn a little bit more so that eventually I did start making some advancement.

I have came a long way since then, but depression is something that I still struggle with on a daily basis. It is hard to explain, let alone understand ... I was suddenly thrown into this entirely different world … it was as if I had suddenly changed into a completely different person, overnight.

The Tower began all of this, but is it the influence of the Tower that kept me this “dark” phase of my life?
