I would like to share a lovely story with you that will hopefully validate how our willingness to listen to our
intuition; our spirits' voice--can guide us to live our life's' purpose and continue to live in spite of the appearances of life's tragedies.
After my daughter's departure from the physical realm to the spiritual realm (On January 23rd. 2002), I avoided
going to places that reminded me of her; of the places we always visited together. As time has passed, I have started to visit these places, realizing that Brenda is always with me in spirit. Yet, there was one particular place that I could not bring myself to visit; a supermarket that we would always go to together. I had been avoiding this market like a plaque--that is until a few days ago.
I was on my way home from an appointment and remembered I needed some groceries. I was in close proximity to the market I have been avoiding. But, by the grace of spirit, I felt an yearning to enter the store. With all the
courage I could gather, I entered the store with my mother. Typically, I usually begin to shop at the beginning of the store; where the fruit and vegetables are. But, as I entered the store, I was pulled to a display centered in the middle of the store. As I looked at the item in display, I noticed a woman in her late fifties, sitting near the display.
The woman was obviously distraught; she was crying and holding on to her chest. I addressed the woman and asked her if she was alright. She did not respond. I attempted to stay focused in my shopping but could not help myself and asked the woman again if I could be of assistance.
Dorothy suddenly gasped and began to speak. She had locked herself out of her rented car. She had been involved in a car accident three weeks ago and had been forced to rent a car. Now, recapping the events of the last three weeks, she felt distraught. I tried to calm Dorothy and reassured her that help would arrive. Just then, I realized that an human angel had already stepped in to help. Alfred, an employee of the market, had placed a call to the local fire department and came to inform Dorothy that aid was on the way. Although she seemed relieved to know that help was on the way, Dorothy stilled seemed very anxious. I asked her if I could call a family Member or friend. At this point, she began to cry again.
Dorothy told me that she her family lived in another city. She also told me that she had recently lost her husband. Suddenly, I understood why Dorothy was so upset...and, I also understood why I had been gracefully led to put my emotions to the side and enter this market.
For the next fifteen minutes, I attempted to offer Dorothy spiritual comfort. I reassured her that although her beloved Author had left the physical realm, he was with her in spirit; watching and guiding her. At this comment, Dorothy began to cry again and asked me why--if Author was with her--did he not help her; to retrieve her car keys. I smiled and reminded Dorothy that her beloved was surely assisting her. I reminded her that she was not alone; that Alfred, the market employee had immediately come to her rescue. And, I also told her that I had been avoiding visiting this market for two months but had suddenly felt a sudden urge to do so...obviously, then, Author was watching and taking care of her!
At the end, we all walked away from this experience with a wonderful gift. Not only did the fire department assist Dorothy in opening her car--Dorothy also discovered that our departed loved ones are always with us, guiding and protecting us; sending us human angels to assist us through our lives.
Alfred--the market employee, gracefully experienced the gift of giving, of assisting and of compassion. Being able to help someone during a time of need is one of the most precious actions we can do...for others and ourselves.
As for me, I humbly realized that spirit had guided me to this experience in order to remind me...to remind me not to absorb myself in the illusion of a personal loss...but, to remember that the best healing remedy we can utilize in mending a grieving heart is to offer our love, support and compassion to those who really need our assistance: mankind.
I was gracefully reminded by my spirit--and by the divine presence of my beloved daughter's spirit to continue living my passion; to offer spiritual counseling and support to all those I can reach and touch. I was reminded that life must go on.
I invite you today to listen to the inner-voice that constantly guides you; to the divine presence that always
encourages you to live your life fully. And, I also invite you to remember that the best way we can heal our emotional wounds is by offering our love and compassion to those who need our support; be it a friend, a family Member or a stranger. Remember, in the spiritual realm, we are all one!
Love and light,
Blanca
