Seven years ago my brother (whom I was extremely close to) was dying of AIDS -- we both have always had a strong belief in all things spiritual -- during what was to be our last conversation on this plane, my brother said that he knew that I had an open mind and to watch for signs, as he would send me "something" so that I would know that he had crossed over into another dimension ,not "died".
The day of his funeral, at the wake, I discovered in a very odd spot, sitting on top of cobwebs in a corner, a very shiny new penny -- picking this up I thought of my brother -- later that same evening, right in the middle of the hotel room floor (where there had been nothing minutes earlier) another bright new penny -- and again later that same evening as I prepared for bed - in the washroom on the counter - yup - a penny!! Three in one day! I believed myself so very fortunate and believed these to definitely be from my brother - in fact - pennies from heaven!
The three penny phenomenon continued every day for 2 weeks - I knew that I must be missing something as they kept coming every day - I phoned a friend of mine who is very deeply into metaphysics and asked her opinion - she confirmed that Yes, pennies from heaven but more importantly the trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) but also in metaphysical terms a sign that the body, soul, and mind are all one and whole again - no longer ill,or wanting for anything.
Before retiring that evening I asked my brother for one more penny to confirm if this theory was correct --sure enough, the next morning, while making up my bed - I stepped on a penny just under the edge of the bed. The daily ritual of 3 pennies stopped at that point really confirming that I was correct (and thrilled to be so --to know that he really was alright and would be waiting for me).
I now only receive pennies (always in weird spots)when I am either very happy or upset about something - times when I normally would be on the phone talking to my big brother about it.
Love and life really do carry on!
